CWDL Audit Results
Full RfT Press Release
CWDL, a San Diego-based accounting firm, has released their report assessing the 2023-24 finances for all SDUHSD foundations, including the CCA Foundation (CCAF).
The audit substantiated earlier allegations raised by Ravens for Transparency, including high fees and missing Executive Director salary disclosures.
CWDL was unable to certify the accuracy of the CCAF's financial statements.
Their report also identified balance discrepancies, a lack of internal controls, and missing payroll documentation.
CWDL states that these issues make the CCAF noncompliant with federal and IRS regulations and expose them to legal problems.
With these findings, we believe there is sufficient evidence of mismanagement to warrant further investigation into unanswered questions.
Since our initial investigation spanned further than 1 year, we believe a professional audit covering a longer period would be beneficial.
With the goal of the CCA's reputation and ensuring the
continuation of the flow of donations, we hope that reforms will be made to ensure both transparency and proper use of funds.
